Welcome
Week 13 - Hot off the press No, I haven't changed colour and got older overnight! Mum asked me to let you all know that Fabian who was Mum and Dad's first puppy qualified as a Guide Dog this week - they just had the telephone call. They are very excited and keep talking about champagne - is that something nice? I hope that when I get bigger I become a Guide Dog too, but I still have so much to learn. Doesn't Fabian look handsome. Mum just dictated that bit.... personally I think he looks like a bit of a show off! Anyway, I am off to cause mischief now, I have just discovered a way to run round the table with something they want back and they can't catch me - it's a great game! Love Pickle xx
Week 14 - Water, water everywhere.........  26th November 2006 It   has   been   raining   a   lot   this   week   and   as   you   can   see   Mum   &   Dads'   garden   is   flooded.   Only   joking,   this   is   me   on   a   walk with Pixie, my older lady friend that I told you about last week. On   Monday,   Dad   and   I   went   to   the   airport   with   lots   of   other   puppies   to   talk   to   the   staff   there   about   the   great   work   we   all   do and   hopefully   to   get   their   sponsorship   in   a   couple   of   years   time.   Then   on   Wednesday   we   went   for   a   walk   in   a   park   with   lots of   other   puppies   who   had   all   come   along   to   meet   our   new   supervisor.   He   couldn't   make   it   though,   so   we   all   had   a   good romp   around   instead,   and   a   few   of   us   got   a   ticking   off   for   rolling   in   something   smelly   -   not   me   I   hasten   to   add!   There   was   a pup   there   called   Leo   who   is   smaller   than   me,   so   I   took   it   upon   myself   to   pick   on   him.   I   promise   I   won't   scare   him   so   much next time :) On   Friday,   Pixie   came   to   stay   and   we   haven't   stopped   having   fun   ever   since.   She   is   chewing   up   all   my   toys,   so   I   might   need some   more   soon.   Today,   on   our   walk   we   went   to   a   flooded   quarry   where   Dad   was   going   scuba   diving,   and   Mum   took   us round   all   the   big   puddles   -   it   was   great   fun,   but   we   didn't   stay   still   long   enough   for   Mum   to   get   a   picture.   So   Dad   had   to take   one   later   when   we   were   a   bit   tired   out.   I   don't   know   what   Pixie   was   looking   for,   but   if   she   found   it,   I   was   going   to   be right   there!   Pixie   is   with   me   until   next   Saturday,   so   yippee!!   Oh,   by   the   way,   Dad   says   I   am   20kg   now,   so   I   am   going   to   be big when I grow up. Love Pickle xx
Week 15 - What a week that was........ 3rd December 2006 I am soooo tired, Mum says I have to update my diary, otherwise I would have gone straight to bed. Pixie has stayed all week and we have had a really good time. She has pinched all my toys and got in the way when a treat was on offer, but I didn't mind as it was fun to have some-one to play with all week. On Thursday, Dad and I met Spencer in the middle of town to do some fundraising for Guide Dogs, we met loads of nice people, and they were all very generous. You can see a picture of Spencer and me with our collection bucket (I think I was a bit distracted by a chew at the time!). As if that wasn't enough fun, on Saturday night, Mum & Dad had a puppy party to celebrate Fabian and Robin becoming qualified Guide Dogs. They invited some other Mums & Dads along with their puppies. It was fun (no, chaos Mum says) and at one point there were 5 of us charging around the house and garden. It only took 4 hours for us all to calm down and go to sleep. Then as you can see from the first picture, they all thought it was very funny to put some reindeer antlers on the dogs. They also got pictures of Chelsea, Spencer and Harry, which I am sure they will use as bribery! Pixie escaped as she had to go home to bed early. Today, I was shattered, but do they leave me to sleep in peace, no! they drag me off to a Christmas Fair at a horse sanctuary! I wasn't sure at all about the donkeys, especially the one who was following me around. After about an hour though, I got used to them, which Dad says is good for my training. The picture is me trying to show 'Am I bothered?' Yaaaawn, well I am back off to my bed now, see you again next week. Love Pickle xxx zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Week 16 - I'm forever blowing bubbles...... 10th December 2006 The title of the post this week is all because I found a new game to play - stealing the soap when Dad is having a shower, and even though it didn't taste very nice, I still managed to have a good chew on it. Then I went to wake up Mum with a big lick hello!! She said 'yuk', that's not very nice is it. Mum caught me updating my blog last week so decided to take a picture of me. I am not big enough to have it on the table, so it has to be set up on a chair for me. This week the weather has been just as wet as it was the week before, which I think is fine, but Mum has taken to wanting to wipe my paws with a towel when I come in through the back door. I have been very good and patient (to lull her into a false sense of security) so she was very surprised when I sauntered in slowly the other day to follow the usual routine, then as she leaned forward, I accelerated past her and ran round the living room getting muddy paw prints everywhere and she couldn't catch me. Oh how I laughed!!!!!! Dad and I went down to the big store where we were collecting last week to show our faces, and to help all the staff understand why it is so important to help with fund raising. Apparently I was a star, as everyone wanted to tickle me, so I rolled onto my back obligingly with my paws in the air. I swear I was 2 inches shorter by the time I got home, with all the patting on my head that was going on!  Last night, Mum & Dad went out without me.....but I was ok, they dropped me off for the evening with Spencer & Chelsea. I learnt a couple of new lessons, one was that when Chelsea tells you not to take her chew, just distract her, then go round the outside and get it anyway the other one was all about patience and waiting for a treat until told to do so. May I say, I think I was rather good at it. The next picture is one from last week, Pixie and I - she was in MY BED, but I don't mind, she warmed it up nicely! Anyway, I am sure I have another fun week ahead of me, I keep hearing that it is coming up to Christmas or something?? Love Pickle xxx
