Week 26 - Me and the boys....and girls..! 18th February 2007
Mum has just woken me up from a lovely dream I was having about chasing something, so that I can write my diary up for
the week. Don't we all look handsome in this photo that Dad took today! Left to right is Spencer, Chelsea and yours truly -
Mr Pickle!
We were at a fantastic doggie event all weekend, and I will tell you more about that later, but first the rest of my week. Well I
have been out and about on the town doing lots of walk training. Dad took me right into the city centre and walked me
round some of the big department stores. I was very good and walked beautifully (though I do say so myself!). We also went
for a run and coffee with Harry - well Dad and Harry's mum had the coffee - I had a manky old chew handed to me under
the table in the coffee shop (while they had teacakes I hasten to add) so I decided to bark until they took me out - tee hee....
I may have mentioned Josie before, well she is one of my many girlfriends and she came over to stay for a few hours on
Friday. We decided to worry Dad and kept going behind the garden shed for a few minutes at a time - he wasn't too sure
what we were up to...and we are going to keep them all guessing aren't we Josie!
Back to this weekend then, Harry and I went along with all my friends - and some new ones too - to a dog event where we
were representing Guide Dogs. We had a lovely time and introduced a lot of people to the work that we do. It was Dad's
birthday on Saturday, so he had a birthday cake with candles and all the puppy walkers sang happy birthday to him. It was
really funny, Josie joined in by barking along in tune with them all... Actually, it was my 7 month birthday as well and Mum
made me a special cake made from lots of good dog treats - it was yummy, even Chelsea ate some!
Ok, so Dad wanted a picture of me by all the rosettes, I think he wanted to pretend that I had won them all - well some of
them I could, easily 'dog with the waggiest tail' or 'dog who looks most like his owner - except with more hair' (I made the
last bit of that one up......), and of course 'dog with the best diary'. I met a new friend there today, her name is Whisp and she
is also a guide dog puppy but is still a baby as she is only 15 weeks old - aaaah, she is so cute! I hope I see her again soon.
I am going to go back to bed now, but before I go I just want to say - Harry, good luck for tomorrow mate - I will be thinking
of you.

Week 27 - Now come on, we mustn't laugh................ 25th February 2007
Harry, poor lad has been in the wars a bit this week and has to wear this to stop him scratching himself. His street cred has
gone right out of the window - good job he had the other 'op' as no girls will look at him now! Mind you, I hear whispered
voices again, so I suspect that it is my turn next. I am making the most of the time I have left with my 'friends' and showing
them off to every one at any opportunity (and making sure they are spotlessly clean as well).
Well, I won't be able to tell you all the things I have been up to this week as there has been so much, but here is a summary.
It started on Monday night at a branch meeting for Guide Dogs, where I met up with Kim and my old pal, Spencer. He has
grown so much.....I was a bit scared of him, but he was ok - he says he is off to big school soon, and he will wait for me to get
there, so that he can introduce me to all the things I need to know (yeah, right!).
This is Kim and I, he decided to try and kiss me as soon as the camera was on him - show off! Then, on Tuesday, we went off
to the local train station to meet up with my supervisor as he wanted me to go on a train for the first time. We went on a trip
for about 15 minutes, had a coffee, then came back again, it was all quite easy really. The weather this week has been lovely
and wet, so the garden has been fantastic to play in - train trips are boring, but playing and digging in mud is great fun.
The only trouble is, this new carpet thing means that I have to have my feet wiped every time I come back in. I keep thinking
Mum & Dad will forget, but they haven't so far. Every now and then, I get lucky and when they are distracted I run off
before my feet are dry. They love the trail of muddy prints I leave, very artistic.
On Thursday, Dad & Harry's Mum (not Harry though, he just couldn't find a thing to wear) took Pixie and I across to a
house where there were lots of lovely people who listened to a talk about the work that we do. Pixie and I had been running
around all morning, so everyone thought we were very well behaved, but actually we were just dog tired. I think we will go
back there sometime, but I can't guarantee I will be so good next time. Finally this week, I went for a walk with Mum, Dad,
Spencer, Chelsea and their Mum.
I won't see Spencer again as he has his boys op on Tuesday and then up to big school the following week. So we had a good
run around and I got filthy muddy, so did Chelsea but funnily enough Spencer stayed quite clean. Could it be because he
was pushing me around in the mud - and Chelsea, well she just rolled around in it for the fun of it! We all laughed when
Spencers' Mum fell over in the mud too - Mum won't let me put the pictures on my diary, as she says she may need them for
blackmail purposes in the future. The picture is of Chelsea and Spencer - keeping all angles covered.
By the way, just to finish for this week,
any pink t-shirts you don't want, I am sure Harry will have them.........

Week 28 - Raindrops keep falling on my head..... 4th March 2007
I do wish it would stop raining. I know I love playing in the mud, but it does mean that Mum & Dad are not so keen to take
me out for long walks, so I spend my time playing with my toys - this is me and Tigger.
I have not had such a busy week as last week , but I have still found time to see my friends and to cause mischief. I went
along to Herbie's Mum & Dad's house on Monday and showed them my 'in and out of the garden' trick. Mum & Dad just sat
and watched and quietly chuckled. Apparently Herbie has been matched to some-one and will be qualified as a guide dog in
a few weeks time, so it will be that fizzy drink again for the grown ups I expect!
Do you remember Whisp, who I met a few weeks ago, well she came round to play this week and Dad took a photo of us.
She thought, for some reason, I was going to be kind and let her have my chews - no way! I have also seen Pixie, and of
course, the big jessie -Harry this week. Harry had to go to the V.E.T and have a litttle operation, but he is ok now (another
bottle of fizzy stuff was drunk, tut tut!). The trouble is, he likes wearing his T-shirts so much that he won't go out without
one now.
When he came round the other night, I decided to duff him over - but he is still bigger than me, even if he is wearing a bright
orange gilet! I keep hearing the whispering of the V.E.T word, but I am assuming they are discussing Harry's op? Anyway,
we went along to a (yawn) book barn yesterday - where there were, yes you have guessed it, lots of books! I had to trot up
and down the aisles as Dad was looking at all the titles on display. I gave a little bark a few times and it was fun to see how
echoey it was.
Can I just say, the next picture was a) not my idea and b) not funny! Mum wanted to see what I would look like with a guide
dog coat on........, so I showed what I thought of it by not looking at the camera. Mum took about five pictures and this was
the best she could get - that will teach her to make fun of me!
Anyway, things are looking good today - I have just been given my tea an hour earlier than normal and Dad says I have to
go to bed early and get a good nights sleep as I have a big day tomorrow. I wonder what is happening, I will be sure to let
you know, I am so excited!
