SGBA pollen identification workshop The SGBA Pollen Workshop is an introduction to the collection and preparation of pollen for the microscope. Pollen is the fertilising dust of flowers, comes in many shapes and a range of sizes, and even the largest is too small to be seen in detail by the naked eye or even with the help of a hand lens. To appreciate the beauty of pollen it is necessary to examine it under a microscope. The workshop will cover the selection of a suitable microscope for pollen identification, the preparation of pollen for the microscope and some assistance in understanding what is seen.
