Alice Rose and Walter Lucus Lynde’s second daughter was Bertha, born 1891, she was elegant, even as a child, and there was always
something rather regal about her. Our generation called her ‘AB’ and respected her greatly. She married Dr Harold Prentiss on 29th
May 1916 in Cowes, Isle of Wight. He was a well known surgeon and diagnostician. They had one child, Audrey Pamela, born on
the 9th August 1920. Howard died in his seventies about 1956.

Bertha had two grandchildren: Audrey’s two daughters, Susan, born in April 1954 and Elizabeth Margaret in February 1958.
Bertha did a lot for them after Audrey’s marriage broke up when they were very young. On 21st April 1982 Bertha died in a
nursing home in Lymington aged 91 years.
